Karuiku is a project led by the students, who are very inspired about change and the future. As such, we all attend a school following the same ideals that our project promotes. 

 

UWC ISAK Japan is a high school in Karuizawa, Nagano, Japan. The school is a part of an international organization of schools called UWC - United World College, which was created to follow a mission of "making education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future."  

 

UWC ISAK Japan uses the International Baccalaureate curriculum as a way to educate in a modern and effective way, under which students are encouraged to not only study subjects in many fields but to also contribute back to the community in many ways; from this passion, Karuiku was born. 

 

Since the school belongs to the UWC movement, there are people from many countries studying here and as such we are able to learn the basics of interaction between different cultures, which in today´s world is becoming more and more invaluable. That is an experience we wish to spread.
